Monday Morning Lament (or HOW is this possible?)

I have players that scored multiple goals yesterday. I have players that got assists. I have defenders with clean sheets. A lot of my players were in the starting line ups. My manager had a win.

A good week, no?

So, when I checked in this morning I discovered that actually it wasn't such a good week. I have not narrowed the gap between me and Mr Rakison Senior. Nor have I shaken off Jon C. In fact, his close adherence to my ankles suggests that it is true that we together define mid table mediocrity.

And I find myself sitting here, wondering, WHY???

Pay close attention here: most of my point earners this week played other team members. For example, Chimbonda v Rooney. Barton v Gerrard and Rafa (Barton was sent off the useless c*nt). Chimbonda v Rooney is a particularly miserable match up as well.

Perhaps I should take up tennis...

King for a day?? (or is that rock star?)

Just in case any of you were not alerted to this by D-Rak himself, he is becoming a colourful local personality here in the Burgh.

Evidence: King for a day

For those too lazy (or nauseated) to read the whole thing, some select quotes:

With his long, wavy black hair and goatee, Rakison looks more like a rock star than a university professor. And his lab resembles a nursery school classroom, rather than a place of cutting-edge psychological research. Even the windowsill of his office is littered with a menagerie of plastic animal figurines and a fleet of Hot Wheels.

At least for now, though, he isn't ready to continue his work at home. Rakison said he and his wife, veterinarian Dr. Caroline Simard, don't plan to have babies of their own soon.

"I think we'll start with a dog and go from there," he said.

(David and Caro's family plans, of course, are of major interest to the city of Pittsburgh)
