Monday Morning Lament (or HOW is this possible?)
I have players that scored multiple goals yesterday. I have players that got assists. I have defenders with clean sheets. A lot of my players were in the starting line ups. My manager had a win.
A good week, no?
So, when I checked in this morning I discovered that actually it wasn't such a good week. I have not narrowed the gap between me and Mr Rakison Senior. Nor have I shaken off Jon C. In fact, his close adherence to my ankles suggests that it is true that we together define mid table mediocrity.
And I find myself sitting here, wondering, WHY???
Pay close attention here: most of my point earners this week played other team members. For example, Chimbonda v Rooney. Barton v Gerrard and Rafa (Barton was sent off the useless c*nt). Chimbonda v Rooney is a particularly miserable match up as well.
Perhaps I should take up tennis...

And don't count me out. I've made some big substitutions and I expect to zoooom up the table. My biggest sub? A change of manager - Nick Y will choose my team for me from now on. Oh, that's what Charlotte does too. I forgot. I guess I won't catch you after all.
This story is absolutely true.....

Romanian club swaps defender for hunk of meat
BUCHAREST, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Romanian second division soccer club UT
Arad sold a player in exchange for 15 kilograms of meat, local sport
daily Pro Sport reported on Monday.
However, fourth division Regal Horia made a bad deal because defender
Marius Cioara decided to end his footballing career and take off to
Spain to find a job in agriculture or construction.
'We are upset because we lost twice - firstly because we lost a good
player and secondly because we lost our team's food for a whole week,' a
Regal Horia official was quoted as saying by the daily in its electronic
edition.
Thanks for the kind words, Jon. Perhaps we should confer as to the best way to take out rakison sr. I found having Stevie G go mad scoring goals was quite good last time, but have slipped back to my old midtable habits. Or do we have to put our money together and buy someone off?
David, it turns out that Nick Y suggested both Rooney and Chimbondisaster. I think that since they cancel each other out we can go back to thinking that I pick my own team...
